[PART NINE] & Some News
Okay, I'm a little new at this so sorry if I mess this up first go. Because it's been 5 months since the last round even though we haven't been busy. I figured I might as well earn my keep and try to get this place alive again...

IMPORTANT: please DO NOT post prompts about any non-public people as part of a prompt. for example: randi zuckerberg is fine as she is a public figure both on the internet and on facebook itself. priscilla chan is NOT as she is not a public figure.

if you're in doubt, please message the mod or leave a comment in the discussion post.

♥ post requests and responses in the comments to this post.
♥ be respectful.
♥ both a pairing/character AND a prompt/kink must be posted.
♥ one pairing/prompt per comment please.
♥ you are encouraged to try and write a prompt for every request you make.
♥ we are slash, femslash, het, three-and-moresomes etc. friendly. (we are even incest friendly what with some of our characters being twins and all...)
♥ no pairing bashing, OK? no need to wank over ships.
♥ long and short fics welcome. multiple responses encouraged!
♥ please try to refrain from saying 'seconded!' as much as possible.
♥ on RPF: Please disclaim that it is RPF, a work of fiction and in no way related to the actual actors/persons/etc. (i wouldn't even try and discourage RPF from this meme ;))

♥ alphabetize pairings/threesomes/moresomes. (e.g. Eduardo/Mark/Sean etc.)
♥ put [RPF] before RPF prompts. (e.g. [RPF] Andrew/Jesse)
♥ for crossover prompts: "[Crossover], The Social Network Character(s)/Other Character(s), [Fandom]" (e.g. [Crossover], Eduardo/Columbus, [Zombieland])
♥ no "!" in pairings, only in descriptions. (e.g. Eduardo/Mark, FacebookCreator!Eduardo, CFO!Mark)
♥ anyone, everyone, no one? Use "Other." (e.g. Sean/Other)
♥ Please do not repost prompts from earlier rounds
♥ put [GEN] before GEN prompts.

♥ please don't embed. link to images/videos.
♥ no locked material. this includes communities, even if membership is open.
♥ fills can be posted anonymously or not.
♥ fills can be anything: fic, art, vid, fanmix, podfic, etc.
♥ all prompts are open to fills at all times, even if they have been filled in the past or are being currently filled by someone else. multiple fills are positively encouraged; if something appeals to you then do not be put off creating a new fill by the existence of a prior one.
NEW: ♥ PLEASE comment with the first of your fill to the PROMPT and then all future updates as a comment to the FIRST PART of the fill. this makes it easier for both the WIP spreadhseet and for archiving stuff on delicious. it also helps people who are trying to catch up on updates and don't have to look through every fill on the prompt (should it have more than one). thank you.

Hi, right now everyone is working on some changes so hold on new things are coming. In an effort to kick this place back into action, we're doing round 9. In a few days, we'll be setting up a fills post that hopefully will work directly for archiving and an overflow post. Also we'll be doing a friending meme at tsn_km_gather so be looking out for that. I know some of the other mods have plans of their own which will be coming soon.

If you have any questions or ideas that I can help you with, feel free to PM me. I'll be around.

have fun!

THERE WILL BE UNMARKED SPOILERS. enter at your own risk! :D

i know you guys are enjoying this meme and i appreciate that but please can you put the SUBJECT HEADER on your prompt. you would REALLY be helping me out if you could do that. it just saves time for me when i'm trying to tag everything in delicious.

AND PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT repost prompts from parts three, four, five, six, seven, or eight. the delicious is around for people to find prompts they may not have already seen. We know there's been some issues but we're working on it with pinboard. No duplicates from this round either. THANK YOU.

Harvard era- Mark, Dustin and Chris are roomates, Eduardo is the hooker hanging out on a street corner in the snow, cold and alone...

Am I completely missing the point when I mentally interpret this mostly as Mark, Dustin and Chris mothering/fussing over cold!hooker!Eduardo? IDEM - love this prompt. Might fill if I can get the time.

Complication With Optimistic Outcome (1a)

Hi guys, I hope I'm not stepping on anybody's toes by filling this prompt. I also really hope the anon above me writes her version as well, because I'm quite sure that this isn't what the OP is after. It's less hurt/comfort and more...drama/humor, I think.
Title has been taken from Track 17 on the TSN OST :)

It's a complete coincidence - that they see him, that is.

Mark is in a foul mood, because Dustin had insisted that the fake IDs would be convincing. He had also begged, literally begged, on his knees and everything, Mark to come with him and Chris to the bar that had just opened up in the middle of town, the one that all the seniors apparently couldn't shut up about.

"I'm sorry." Dustin is whining behind him, running to catch up. "How was I supposed to know the bartender would be able to tell?"

"I don't know," Mark mutters, drawing his collar up higher against the wind, "but I don't give a fuck. Please shut up until we get back home."

"Chris," Dustin wheedles, "Chris, you're not mad at me, are you?"

"No," Chris smiles, even there's a distinct shiver in his voice, "it's fine."

Dustin rounds on Mark. "See? It wasn't even that bad - it's not like he called the bouncers or anything. No one even saw him ask us to leave. And it's only, like, eleven o'clock. I'm sure we can find a cab."

Mark doesn't reply, just holds the sleeve of his hoodie up for Dustin to see.

"Okay, yeah this is totally my fault, but I am not giving you my coat, Mark. You're the one who dresses like -"

"No, you idiot. Look."

Dustin squints for a second, before his eyes go perfectly round. "Oh fuck," he says in a very small voice. "The weatherman didn't say anything about snow tonight."

Mark rolls his eyes. "It's December. We're in Boston. What did you think would happen?"

Chris sighs. "Mark, just calm down, okay? We'll just have to find somewhere to take cover for a few hours."

"And what if it doesn't let up until morning?" Mark mutters, but it's significantly less vitriol-filled than when he'd been addressing Dustin.

"No fair," said bane pouts. "Why are you nice to Chris but not me?"

Mark doesn't even bother dignifying that with a response.

As the wind picks up and the snow begins to fall a little faster, they decide to take a left, because none of them are at all familiar with the city outside campus, but Chris thinks there might be a major road up ahead.

"My parents drove past it on move-in day. It's close to Fenway Park, I think. I remember some stores, so there'll probably be covered walkways."

By this stage, Mark's hands are trembling inside his hoodie pouch and he's practically running in his haste to get out of the snowfall. They do seem to be moving towards some kind of thoroughfare, the roads becoming more and more populated with cars as they progress. Eventually, a Jeep with obnoxiously bright headlights drives past, and Dustin makes some kind of squawking sound.

"Jesus, Mark, your lips are turning blue. I was only joking before. Here, take my coat."

He moves to shrug out of his clothes, but Mark just slaps his arms down. His attention is elsewhere, focussed maybe twenty metres up ahead, where the Jeep has pulled over. He can see a man in the driver's seat, leaning out of the window to talk to a shadowed figure standing on the sidewalk.

Re: Complication With Optimistic Outcome (1a)

Ohhhh this looks promising. Please continue. :)

Re: Complication With Optimistic Outcome (1a)

this is awesome. can't wait for more!

Complication With Optimistic Outcome (1b)

"Are you guys seeing this?"

Dustin looks confused, but Chris nods, grabbing Mark's arm. "That doesn't look good. We should help her."

"I don't think that's a girl," Mark says, shaking his head. The figure is too tall, too lean. He certainly looks big enough to defend himself.

Except...the man in the car is gesticulating wildly, and he's shouting, his low-pitched voice carrying far enough that Mark can catch snippets of what he's saying.

"- no no no -"

"- pay two hundred -"

"- stay out here then -"

There's no one else around, no one out walking this time of night, not when it's this cold. There are other cars rushing by, but the streetlights are too dim, too far apart. In any case, the snow is probably making visibility for the drivers ten times worse. No one's going to help the guy on the sidewalk. Head down, he starts walking around the front of the Jeep, moving for the passenger side door.

Mark doesn't realise he's started running until Dustin hisses, "Mark, what the hell are you doing?"

"Hey!" Mark yells, and the guy stops, turns. Mark has just enough time to register a pair of dark eyes, widened in surprise, a straight, patrician nose and too-red lips set in a tanned face. But there's no time to dwell on the fact that this is the most handsome person Mark has ever encountered in real life, because the man in the Jeep has stuck his head out of the window again. "What do you think you're doing?" he demands.

He's middle-aged, well-dressed like some white-collar banker from Back Bay, harmless and small. There's something unsettling about him though, an edge of menace running through his question, a dangerous twist to his mouth as he glares at Mark, a hungry glint in his watery blue eyes when he glances at the handsome rentboy.

Because of course, of course, that is what this is, a (probably) married man picking up a streetwalker to take back to a motel, and Mark should feel mortified to be intruding on something like this, but instead there's a sick feeling in his stomach, something that screams run, so he mutters under his breath, "Say no. Come with us."

The rentboy, standing about a foot in front of Mark, looks confused. Uncertain.

"Do you know these people?" the man snarls at him.

And fuck, yes he's a stranger, but Mark can't let him go off with this complete creep, so without knowing why, he tries again. "I'll give you three hundred okay?" he says, voice low but steady. "Just tell him no."

Re: Complication With Optimistic Outcome (1b)

oh, I am excited for this one. \o/
