[PART NINE] & Some News
Okay, I'm a little new at this so sorry if I mess this up first go. Because it's been 5 months since the last round even though we haven't been busy. I figured I might as well earn my keep and try to get this place alive again...

THE SOCIAL NETWORK KINK MEME

ASK THE MODS * FAQ * DISCUSSION * RESEARCH * FILL LIST * PART ONE * PART ONE (OVERFLOW) * PART TWO * PART TWO (OVERFLOW) * PART THREE * PART THREE (OVERFLOW) * PART FOUR * PART FIVE * PART SIX * PART SEVEN * PART EIGHT

GENERAL RULES;

IMPORTANT: please DO NOT post prompts about any non-public people as part of a prompt. for example: randi zuckerberg is fine as she is a public figure both on the internet and on facebook itself. priscilla chan is NOT as she is not a public figure.

if you're in doubt, please message the mod or leave a comment in the discussion post.

♥ post requests and responses in the comments to this post.
♥ be respectful.
♥ both a pairing/character AND a prompt/kink must be posted.
♥ one pairing/prompt per comment please.
♥ you are encouraged to try and write a prompt for every request you make.
♥ we are slash, femslash, het, three-and-moresomes etc. friendly. (we are even incest friendly what with some of our characters being twins and all...)
♥ no pairing bashing, OK? no need to wank over ships.
♥ long and short fics welcome. multiple responses encouraged!
♥ please try to refrain from saying 'seconded!' as much as possible.
♥ on RPF: Please disclaim that it is RPF, a work of fiction and in no way related to the actual actors/persons/etc. (i wouldn't even try and discourage RPF from this meme ;))
♥ WARN FOR COMMON TRIGGERS, PLEASE

FORMAT OF PROMPTS:

♥ alphabetize pairings/threesomes/moresomes. (e.g. Eduardo/Mark/Sean etc.)
♥ put [RPF] before RPF prompts. (e.g. [RPF] Andrew/Jesse)
♥ for crossover prompts: "[Crossover], The Social Network Character(s)/Other Character(s), [Fandom]" (e.g. [Crossover], Eduardo/Columbus, [Zombieland])
♥ no "!" in pairings, only in descriptions. (e.g. Eduardo/Mark, FacebookCreator!Eduardo, CFO!Mark)
♥ anyone, everyone, no one? Use "Other." (e.g. Sean/Other)
♥ Please do not repost prompts from earlier rounds
♥ put [GEN] before GEN prompts.

FILLS:

♥ please don't embed. link to images/videos.
♥ no locked material. this includes communities, even if membership is open.
♥ fills can be posted anonymously or not.
♥ fills can be anything: fic, art, vid, fanmix, podfic, etc.
♥ all prompts are open to fills at all times, even if they have been filled in the past or are being currently filled by someone else. multiple fills are positively encouraged; if something appeals to you then do not be put off creating a new fill by the existence of a prior one.
NEW: ♥ PLEASE comment with the first of your fill to the PROMPT and then all future updates as a comment to the FIRST PART of the fill. this makes it easier for both the WIP spreadhseet and for archiving stuff on delicious. it also helps people who are trying to catch up on updates and don't have to look through every fill on the prompt (should it have more than one). thank you.

Hi, right now everyone is working on some changes so hold on new things are coming. In an effort to kick this place back into action, we're doing round 9. In a few days, we'll be setting up a fills post that hopefully will work directly for archiving and an overflow post. Also we'll be doing a friending meme at tsn_km_gather so be looking out for that. I know some of the other mods have plans of their own which will be coming soon.

If you have any questions or ideas that I can help you with, feel free to PM me. I'll be around.

Kitty

THERE WILL BE UNMARKED SPOILERS. enter at your own risk! :D

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING;

i know you guys are enjoying this meme and i appreciate that but please can you put the SUBJECT HEADER on your prompt. you would REALLY be helping me out if you could do that. it just saves time for me when i'm trying to tag everything in delicious.

NEW RULE;

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE 'FILL' RULES. THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE. thank you.

AND PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT repost prompts from parts three, four, five, six, seven, or eight. the delicious is around for people to find prompts they may not have already seen. We know there's been some issues but we're working on it with pinboard. No duplicates from this round either. THANK YOU.

[RPF] Andrew/Jesse AU

(Anonymous)
Jesse is a (fairly famous) actor, Andrew is his biggest fan.

I'd like the boys to still have their same personalities, but wouldn't this be perfect? After Asuncion, and watching Jesse interact with fans, I can totally imagine Jesse being freaked out by this guy who seems to show up at everything he does, but intrigued and rather turned on because hello, Andrew is hot. And I feel like Andrew's personality is very conducive to the excitable, crazy-but-only-because-I-love-you fan. Then of course they live happily ever after, like all of us wish we could. :)

A/N: Posting from a phone, hope it works! I’m really excited for this! I’m weaving in some real life experiences here, too, and I’ll probably let you know all of them in my notes. I saw Asuncion twice- the first time Jesse really did stand in a corner checking his phone until people began to approach him. There really was a man who talked for ages about The Squid and the Whale. The second time…Andrew really was wearing a blue sweater.

On an intellectual level, Jesse knows that he got lucky with his fanbase. They’re not like his friend Kristen’s fans, who let out earth-shattering screams when they see her; they’re not like Aziz’s fans, who tend to be overwhelmingly chatty and pop-culture oriented. And thank god he doesn’t have Emma’s propensity for attracting older men.

No, Jesse’s fans are usually very respectful. (The craziest thing a fan has ever done for him was to give him a fantastically expensive antique map of Poland. She pressed it into his hands and almost sprinted away- he hasn’t seen her since.) They always say please when they ask for autographs and pictures, and a lot of the time he has genuinely enjoyable conversations with them.

However, it’s a little disconcerting when strangers are able to talk to him and about him in such a personal way. (“How are your cats?” they always ask, and Jesse sometimes startles at the line of inquiry, despite having been questioned about it so many times.)

His fans are the reason that Jesse takes an extra deep breath before walking into the theater’s lobby- he loves his fans, he would be nothing without them, but he’s often worn out after meeting so many new people- and, let’s face it, Asuncion has attracted a lot of his more…dedicated…fans.

At first, the few people still milling about in Cherry Lane’s tiny lobby hang back. Jesse positions himself awkwardly in corner, checking his cell for messages and pretending to send a text. By the time he tucks his phone away, there’s a middle-aged couple in front of him, who each shake his hand and congratulate him on the play.

Next up is a balding, portly gentleman who talks for a few minutes about how brilliant The Squid and the Whale was. Jesse just smiles, thanks him, and wonders idly if the man has seen The Social Network- that’s usually the only film of his anyone ever brings up these days.

Next is a group of college-aged girls, some of whom he recognizes. He greets these particular girls by name and introduces himself to the others; they ask him to sign a few t-shirts and posters, and he promises to say hi to Justin from them.

Fnally, finally, there is only one person left who wants to talk to Jesse- a man who has been hovering at the edge of the crowd for a while now. He’s striking- tall and lean, with seemingly gravity-defying hair and bold features. Brown eyes, Jesse notes as the man approaches. Brown eyes and a perfectly-fitted blue sweater.

“Hi,” says the man, clasping the hand Jesse holds out automatically to shake. “I’m Andrew.”

“Jesse,” he says, blushing a little, because yes, even he can appreciate good looks and a British accent, thank you very much.

“I know,” grins Andrew, then continues on enthusiastically before Jesse has time to reply. “I loved the play,” Andrew says. “I thought it was great, really good characterization.”

Fill: Life on the Nickel, 1b/?

“Thank you,” says Jesse, blinking, a little taken aback. He always feels uncomfortable on the receiving end of compliments; they always feel a little too forced, a little too insincere, but he almost believes Andrew, who seems to radiate cheer and warmth. “The critics thought the plot was underdeveloped,” he blurts, and then freezes, because that. That was possibly the most unprofessional thing he has said to a fan in months.

Jesse is grateful for the way that Andrew furrows his brow in response, thinking about what Jesse has said before replying. It’s as if taking the mistake seriously has erased the awkwardness that should be hanging between them at such a ridiculous comment.

“You know,” says Andrew slowly, “I’ve always felt that characters drive the story. There’s no such thing as a bad plot if the characters feel real, you know?”

Jesse swallow thickly and nods. “Yeah, I completely understand,” he says. “I always felt that way about some of my favorite books.”

Andrew throws his head back and laughs, the sound echoing loudly off the theater walls. “You’re delightful!” he chuckles. “I knew you would be.”

Jesse looks down at his shoes, uncomfortable again. Andrew picks up on it in a second.

“Oh no, I-“ he starts. “I’ve just heard a lot of positive things-“ he stops again, then sighs, running a hand through this hair. “Look,” Andrew says plainly. “I adore your work. I think you’re a genius. Would you sign my playbill?”

Jesse has to smile at that, because he understands, on one level or another. “Sure,” he replies, pulling out a well-used Sharpie.

He scrawls a note and signature automatically, head too full to really concentrate. When he’s finished, Andrew clutches the playbill to his chest.
“Thank you!” he says, beaming. “I’ll let you go. Have a good night!”

“You too,” says Jesse, a little bemused at such cheerfulness and openness, but polite nonetheless.

“I will!” calls Andrew over his shoulder as he skips through the glass doors.

Jesse watches him leave and can’t help feel like he’s missed something; soon enough Justin pokes his head into the lobby and asks if everyone’s gone, if it’s safe to come out; Jesse, laughing, lets Justin give him a ride home, to his empty apartment, to his cats and his books and two new emails, both from relatives.

Yes, Jesse has missed something. He just doesn’t know what.

I legit just screamed in my apartment. I didn't really think this would be filled but yessssssss. I am thrilled. And I'm also thrilled that you saw Asuncion, so you completely understand what I wanted with this prompt. I'm so excited!!! Love your beginning and can't wait for more! :)

Re: Fill: Life on the Nickel, 1b/?

this is so lovely I don't know how to handle it \o/ Jesse's self-deprecating humbleness and Andrew's enthusiasm but embarrassed backtracking when he's realized that he made him feel slightly uncomfortable with the attention xD utterly perfect

Re: Fill: Life on the Nickel, 1b/?
