Part 10 is open and prompts from 1-4 can be re-posted here if they were not filled.

IMPORTANT: please DO NOT post prompts about any non-public people as part of a prompt. for example: randi zuckerberg is fine as she is a public figure both on the internet and on facebook itself. priscilla chan is NOT as she is not a public figure.

if you're in doubt, please message the mod or leave a comment in the discussion post.

♥ post requests and responses in the comments to this post.
♥ be respectful.
♥ both a pairing/character AND a prompt/kink must be posted.
♥ one pairing/prompt per comment please.
♥ you are encouraged to try and write a prompt for every request you make.
♥ we are slash, femslash, het, three-and-moresomes etc. friendly. (we are even incest friendly what with some of our characters being twins and all...)
♥ no pairing bashing, OK? no need to wank over ships.
♥ long and short fics welcome. multiple responses encouraged!
♥ please try to refrain from saying 'seconded!' as much as possible.
♥ on RPF: Please disclaim that it is RPF, a work of fiction and in no way related to the actual actors/persons/etc. (i wouldn't even try and discourage RPF from this meme ;))

♥ alphabetize pairings/threesomes/moresomes. (e.g. Eduardo/Mark/Sean etc.)
♥ put [RPF] before RPF prompts. (e.g. [RPF] Andrew/Jesse)
♥ for crossover prompts: "[Crossover], The Social Network Character(s)/Other Character(s), [Fandom]" (e.g. [Crossover], Eduardo/Columbus, [Zombieland])
♥ no "!" in pairings, only in descriptions. (e.g. Eduardo/Mark, FacebookCreator!Eduardo, CFO!Mark)
♥ anyone, everyone, no one? Use "Other." (e.g. Sean/Other)
♥ Please do not repost prompts from earlier rounds
♥ put [GEN] before GEN prompts.

♥ please don't embed. link to images/videos.
♥ no locked material. this includes communities, even if membership is open.
♥ fills can be posted anonymously or not.
♥ fills can be anything: fic, art, vid, fanmix, podfic, etc.
♥ all prompts are open to fills at all times, even if they have been filled in the past or are being currently filled by someone else. multiple fills are positively encouraged; if something appeals to you then do not be put off creating a new fill by the existence of a prior one.
NEW: ♥ PLEASE comment with the first of your fill to the PROMPT and then all future updates as a comment to the FIRST PART of the fill. this makes it easier for both the WIP spreadhseet and for archiving stuff on delicious. it also helps people who are trying to catch up on updates and don't have to look through every fill on the prompt (should it have more than one). thank you.

It's finally time for part 10, it's been a few months but even after the article of doom, we're still open.

If you have any questions or ideas that I can help you with, feel free to PM me. I'll be around.

have fun!

THERE WILL BE UNMARKED SPOILERS. enter at your own risk! :D

i know you guys are enjoying this meme and i appreciate that but please can you put the SUBJECT HEADER on your prompt. you would REALLY be helping me out if you could do that. it just saves time for me when i'm trying to tag everything in delicious.

AND PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT re-post prompts from parts five, six, seven, eight, or nine. the delicious is around for people to find prompts they may not have already seen. We know there's been some issues but we're working on it with pinboard. No duplicates from this round either. THANK YOU.

Re-prompt from R1: Eduardo (Mark/Eduardo) - Ads

Eduardo's reaction when Facebook finally did put ads on the site (obviously post-movie/lawsuit).

Re: Re-prompt from R1: Eduardo (Mark/Eduardo) - Ads

Part I of II!

Mark receives the e-mail from Eduardo bright and early on a Monday morning. It's date-stamped from some ludicrous time in the middle of the night on Saturday, because of the time difference between here and Singapore. Mark would have picked it up on Sunday, but he's made it a rule to mostly sleep on Sundays. He tells himself that this is so that he doesn't have to put up with Chris' nagging at him to have a nap all week, but part of it is that Mark is starting to realize that despite the ubiquitous hoodies and Red Bulls and all-night coding tears, he is a Grown-Up, capital G, capital U, and sometimes you have to Be Responsible (he hears the last part in his mother's voice).

The e-mail is just one line.

Facebook wants to know if I'm interested in getting a discount detailing job for my car.

Mark has a moment where, okay, this doesn't make any sense, because he and Eduardo don't send each other e-mails anymore, and they certainly don't send each other cryptic one-liners after months of radio silence.

Then it occurs to him that this is about ads, and he is pretty sure that he saw this coming, when the financial team first put it on the table a few months ago.

Eduardo's going to be a bitch about this, he'd thought - correctly, apparently.

But Mark can be bitchy too, so he fires back an e-mail without stopping to consider if opening the floodgates like this is a good idea.

This doesn't make you right. About anything.

It is four hours before the next e-mail. Mark puts on his headphones and works, but he checks his e-mail slightly more than usual, which he denies even to himself. It's not that he wants to hear from Eduardo, he thinks; it's that they had to be so goddamn polite during the depositions that Mark would love - love - to rage at Eduardo and have Eduardo rage back. They were practically built to fight with each other like that. And Mark doesn't think that Eduardo has ever fully been made to see where he was wrong, which is something that Mark can definitely help him with.

The next e-mail doesn't even acknowledge Mark's previous reply. It reads:

You need to sort of your algorithms. I don't own a car. And if I did, I wouldn't need a discount.

Mark's fingers fly over the keys:

Facebook must have forgotten about that cheque I wrote you.

He means it in a sarcastic, mean way, but Eduardo lets it go, which makes Mark briefly wonder if Eduardo, too, has realized that they are Grown-Ups. Or maybe he's decided that if Mark can use sarcasm as a weapon, then he can, too.

Eduardo's response is quick.

Admitting fault with Facebook? This is new.

Mark frowns.

There's nothing wrong with Facebook. It had to grow before we put in ads and it did.

Re: Re-prompt from R1: Eduardo (Mark/Eduardo) - Ads

Part II of II!

This time, there is no response for two days. Mark codes and sleeps and avoids Dustin, whom he knows would recognize at once that he's been talking to Eduardo (though he's not sure how). He does see Chris, who gives him sidelong, scrutinizing looks when he thinks Mark isn't looking, but Mark ignores him.

When the response finally comes, Mark is in a mood - he has been for the past few days - and he leaves it alone while he wires in and codes for awhile. Eventually, he opens it, if only because (as he tells himself) it's bad policy to delete e-mails you haven't read, if you're the CEO of a company and all.

I should've come out to California.

Mark considers this for a long time, weighing it from every angle. It's a statement that can be interpreted as an apology, but Mark doesn't trust it. They've been at this for too long. He doesn't get a chance to reply before another e-mail comes in:

I'm not apologizing. You're still an asshole. But I should've come out to California.

Mark leans forward in his chair, wondering at the conversation they're having, like it's even legal for them to be doing this - didn't they sign nondisclosure agreements? But talking is better than not talking, because talking means there will be a conclusion, more closure than a lawsuit can provide.

You can still come out to California. Where I can make cutting remarks to your face and you can break things like a fucking four-year-old.

Eduardo's answer comes even faster than the last one.

You think it will change anything if I can tell you that you were a shitty friend to your face?

Mark shrugs, almost like Eduardo can see him.

We can establish where we stand with each other. If I'm going to despise you, I want to despise you to your face.

And maybe they need to yell at each other, hash this out. Mark thinks, Bring it on. But curiously, he's not sure what will happen if they do.

Eduardo's answer is thoughtful.

Maybe I will.

Mark tells himself he isn't waiting.

Re: Re-prompt from R1: Eduardo (Mark/Eduardo) - Ads

*You need to sort OUT your algorithms

I mis-type 'out' as 'of' ALL the freakin' time.

Re: Re-prompt from R1: Eduardo (Mark/Eduardo) - Ads

Soo, not only are you a harbinger of cake, you are a harbinger of excellent little fics. This is great!! It feels so realistic, and I love how there's this understated, micron-wide filament of respect and affection between them, even after all the shit.

Re: Re-prompt from R1: Eduardo (Mark/Eduardo) - Ads

Micro-wide filament! I love that. Thanks for the lovely comment!

Re: Re-prompt from R1: Eduardo (Mark/Eduardo) - Ads
