Part 10 is open and prompts from 1-4 can be re-posted here if they were not filled.

IMPORTANT: please DO NOT post prompts about any non-public people as part of a prompt. for example: randi zuckerberg is fine as she is a public figure both on the internet and on facebook itself. priscilla chan is NOT as she is not a public figure.

if you're in doubt, please message the mod or leave a comment in the discussion post.

♥ post requests and responses in the comments to this post.
♥ be respectful.
♥ both a pairing/character AND a prompt/kink must be posted.
♥ one pairing/prompt per comment please.
♥ you are encouraged to try and write a prompt for every request you make.
♥ we are slash, femslash, het, three-and-moresomes etc. friendly. (we are even incest friendly what with some of our characters being twins and all...)
♥ no pairing bashing, OK? no need to wank over ships.
♥ long and short fics welcome. multiple responses encouraged!
♥ please try to refrain from saying 'seconded!' as much as possible.
♥ on RPF: Please disclaim that it is RPF, a work of fiction and in no way related to the actual actors/persons/etc. (i wouldn't even try and discourage RPF from this meme ;))

♥ alphabetize pairings/threesomes/moresomes. (e.g. Eduardo/Mark/Sean etc.)
♥ put [RPF] before RPF prompts. (e.g. [RPF] Andrew/Jesse)
♥ for crossover prompts: "[Crossover], The Social Network Character(s)/Other Character(s), [Fandom]" (e.g. [Crossover], Eduardo/Columbus, [Zombieland])
♥ no "!" in pairings, only in descriptions. (e.g. Eduardo/Mark, FacebookCreator!Eduardo, CFO!Mark)
♥ anyone, everyone, no one? Use "Other." (e.g. Sean/Other)
♥ Please do not repost prompts from earlier rounds
♥ put [GEN] before GEN prompts.

♥ please don't embed. link to images/videos.
♥ no locked material. this includes communities, even if membership is open.
♥ fills can be posted anonymously or not.
♥ fills can be anything: fic, art, vid, fanmix, podfic, etc.
♥ all prompts are open to fills at all times, even if they have been filled in the past or are being currently filled by someone else. multiple fills are positively encouraged; if something appeals to you then do not be put off creating a new fill by the existence of a prior one.
NEW: ♥ PLEASE comment with the first of your fill to the PROMPT and then all future updates as a comment to the FIRST PART of the fill. this makes it easier for both the WIP spreadhseet and for archiving stuff on delicious. it also helps people who are trying to catch up on updates and don't have to look through every fill on the prompt (should it have more than one). thank you.

It's finally time for part 10, it's been a few months but even after the article of doom, we're still open.

If you have any questions or ideas that I can help you with, feel free to PM me. I'll be around.

have fun!

THERE WILL BE UNMARKED SPOILERS. enter at your own risk! :D

i know you guys are enjoying this meme and i appreciate that but please can you put the SUBJECT HEADER on your prompt. you would REALLY be helping me out if you could do that. it just saves time for me when i'm trying to tag everything in delicious.

AND PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT re-post prompts from parts five, six, seven, eight, or nine. the delicious is around for people to find prompts they may not have already seen. We know there's been some issues but we're working on it with pinboard. No duplicates from this round either. THANK YOU.

R1 Re-prompt: Eduardo/Mark - Chris wedding angst

(slightly edited from original) Mark and Eduardo show up at Chris' wedding/engagement party. Eduardo goes to some of the annual Facebook meetings but he's never talked to Mark. This is the first time they're in a public setting together. They get drunk knowing the other one is here. Eduardo and Mark find them themselves alone and start arguing - "we could've had this Mark! All of this, the wedding, a future! I know you probably would've been saying your vows over Skype or some shit because you would've forgotten the date but we could've fucking had this."

[FILL] wedding angst untitled 1a

It was raining when he got on the plane; a damp, grey day making the tarmac wet and shiny. Eduardo had sunk into his first-class seat, closed his eyes and listened to the droplets falling against the sides of the plane. It reminded him of a toy his mother had made for him when he was little, a long and hollow tube made from a bamboo shoot and stuffed with a few cups of rice. It was called a rainstick because the sound it made when you tipped it, and this rain sounded exactly like that.

He looked out the window as they took off and wondered if they’d crash. He stretched himself out in the reclining plush seat and closed his eyes, not realizing he’d fallen asleep until he was jolted awake by the murmuring and rumbling of the plane. The aircraft lurched; a woman in the seat behind him gasped.

The pilot came onto the intercom to tell them that turbulence was expected and for everyone to secure their seatbelts. Eduardo spent the horrendously long time in transit watching chick flicks and indie comedies. They operative word here is watching: he didn’t hear the dialogue or take anything in, he just subjected himself to horrible movie after horrible movie, knowing that after he’d gone through enough of them, they’d land. Or maybe the plane would crash and he wouldn’t have to deal with any of this, maybe it’d just plunge right into the sea and they’d become some lost ruin. And it’s so awful and immature of him to be concerning himself with his own discomforts at a time in his friends’ lives that is so important to them. Chris and Sean (Good Sean, not Bad Sean!) are getting married and all Eduardo can bring himself to think of is how he’s going to have to go to great lengths to avoid Mark.

“And then, of course Chris will enter…”

There’s the wedding rehearsal, which, well, Eduardo didn’t even know wedding rehearsals existed, but supposes it makes sense in theory. Eduardo’s leaning against the back wall of the church, one foot rested up against his other knee. He watches Chris walk through the double doors, parade slowly up to the front and then take Sean’s hands in his. They look so happy.

Eduardo can’t bear it; he ducks out of the room and starts wandering the ornate hallways of the church. He doesn’t have fond memories of church; when he was little, his mother would dress him up and force him to go each week and if he fidgeted too much during the service he’d be spanked for sure when he got home. His father had always made him pray every night and read his bible religiously and he may have a little bit of resentment towards church. Yet walking around these hallways somehow feels peaceful and safe, like it really is a sacred place.

He needs time to be by himself and just think. He flew in late last night, had to get up early this morning and has been around crowds of people the past three days. He closes his eyes and runs his fingers along the wall to guide him so he doesn’t have to look where he’s going. Chris and Sean… they’ve been together forever. Well, since Harvard days, and they were both lucky enough to find someone so perfect so soon. Eduardo, well, he’s never thought there’s anyone for him. His life at home wasn’t glamorous. Despite the money he’d won from Mark and that he had from his five percent share, he still lived in a little apartment on the thirty-second floor of a glass-paneled complex. He still put on a suit and went to work every day, trading stocks and earning money not for himself but for the company he worked for. After work, he’d go home, or sit alone at a bar and pretend there was something keeping him tied here.

If there’s anything this has taught him, it’s that distance really doesn’t make a difference. He picked the farthest place from Palo Alto he possibly could, but the thousands of miles separating them doesn’t make a teensy difference. Being far away doesn’t make it hurt less. It doesn’t make it change what happened. It just makes him lonely. Semi-annual meetings for Facebook have been bad enough to sit through, but this seems like it’ll be even worse, watching Chris and Sean parade around together, the extra pressure to be presentable and polite, the higher likelihood of he and Mark being thrown together…

[FILL] wedding angst untitled 1b

He bumps smack into someone, hurries to apologize and – well, shit.

Mark looks better in that suit than he ever has before. It’s almost hard to believe it’s the same person that wears old hoodies and ripped jeans to his own business meetings, standing in front of Eduardo in a blue tuxedo. Has he grown, or has Eduardo just developed a habit of slouching?

“Oh… hey.” Eduardo steps to the side. He’s gotten to the point where he can see Mark without freaking out. But it still shoots a sharp pain through his chest and makes the back of his eyes burn. Mark, too, doesn’t look totally happy to see him.

“Wa – Eduardo,” he nods, curtly, shuffling on his feet. Mark’s intellectual maturity always vastly outweighed his emotional maturity. He may have the intelligence and wisdom that people twice his age can only dream of, but emotionally he may as well be half as old. He doesn’t make eye contact, not that he ever has, and that’s all there is of this brief encounter because he hurries on his way down the hall without looking back.
(to be continued!)

Re: [FILL] wedding angst untitled 1b

I'm really enjoying this so far.

Re: [FILL] wedding angst untitled 1b

great beginning, can't wait for the rest. :B

Re: [FILL] wedding angst untitled 1c

He's always hated hotel rooms. The empty walls and the perfecly matching furniture always feels like they're mocking him, somehow. The beds are always too clean, the covers too flat and new. He never knows what channels are on the television and nothing feels like home.

It's raining now. The only window into the room looks out on the road. Steam rises up from the hot pavement and the asphalt hisses under the car tires. Eduardo crosses his arms and leans on the window sill, sighing. He always liked to watch the cars go by and just wonder where they were coming from and where they were going, watch the headlights disappear over the horizon.

It makes him feel less alone.

There's no way he can sleep. He's stripped down to his wifebeater and boxers and he's pacing around the room, running his hands through his hair. The alarm clock, green numbers hovering in the darkness, say that it's 3:23 in the morning. He'd tried to get some sleep, but he'd woken up an hour ago in a cold sweat.

It had been the nightmares again. First, he'd been standing at his own wedding - to whom, he didn't know, because as soon as the person had begun to walk out through the double doors, the organ music had become a roaring in his head and the floor had melted away for him to fall through. He was in a vortex of swirling numbers and lines of unidentifiable code circling around his head like a tornado. And then he'd fallen into an office building, and he recognized it, it was the Facebook offices, only something was different. And he'd walked around, but no one saw him, or heard him, and he'd seen Mark, tried to get his attention, but it was the same - he was completeley invisible. He looked down at his hands, and he could see himself disappearing, first his fingers, his hands, his wrists, and his arms were fading away up to his elbows, and that's when he'd woken up.

Re-poster! :D

Really looking forward to seeing where you are going with this! Can't wait for more!
