sorry about the delay in getting this up! please put all new prompts here.

IMPORTANT: please DO NOT post prompts about any non-public people as part of a prompt. for example: randi zuckerberg is fine as she is a public figure both on the internet and on facebook itself. priscilla chan is NOT as she is not a public figure.

if you're in doubt, please message the mod or leave a comment in the discussion post.

♥ post requests and responses in the comments to this post.
♥ be respectful.
♥ both a pairing/character AND a prompt/kink must be posted.
♥ one pairing/prompt per comment please.
♥ you are encouraged to try and write a prompt for every request you make.
♥ we are slash, femslash, het, three-and-moresomes etc. friendly. (we are even incest friendly what with some of our characters being twins and all...)
♥ no pairing bashing, OK? no need to wank over ships.
♥ long and short fics welcome. multiple responses encouraged!
♥ please try to refrain from saying 'seconded!' as much as possible.
♥ on RPF: Please disclaim that it is RPF, a work of fiction and in no way related to the actual actors/persons/etc. (i wouldn't even try and discourage RPF from this meme ;))

♥ alphabetize pairings/threesomes/moresomes. (e.g. Eduardo/Mark/Sean etc.)
♥ put [RPF] before RPF prompts. (e.g. [RPF] Andrew/Jesse)
♥ for crossover prompts: "[Crossover], The Social Network Character(s)/Other Character(s), [Fandom]" (e.g. [Crossover], Eduardo/Columbus, [Zombieland])
♥ no "!" in pairings, only in descriptions. (e.g. Eduardo/Mark, FacebookCreator!Eduardo, CFO!Mark)
♥ anyone, everyone, no one? Use "Other." (e.g. Sean/Other)
♥ put [GEN] before GEN prompts.

♥ please don't embed. link to images/videos.
♥ no locked material. this includes communities, even if membership is open.
♥ fills can be posted anonymously or not.
♥ fills can be anything: fic, art, vid, fanmix, podfic, etc.
♥ all prompts are open to fills at all times, even if they have been filled in the past or are being currently filled by someone else. multiple fills are positively encouraged; if something appeals to you then do not be put off creating a new fill by the existence of a prior one.
NEW: ♥ PLEASE comment with the first of your fill to the PROMPT and then all future updates as a comment to the FIRST PART of the fill. this makes it easier for both the WIP spreadhseet and for archiving stuff on delicious. it also helps people who are trying to catch up on updates and don't have to look through every fill on the prompt (should it have more than one). thank you.

have fun!

THERE WILL BE UNMARKED SPOILERS. enter at your own risk! :D

i know you guys are enjoying this meme and i appreciate that but please can you put the SUBJECT HEADER on your prompt. you would REALLY be helping me out if you could do that. it just saves time for me when i'm trying to tag everything in delicious.

AND PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT repost prompts from parts three, four, five or six over here again. the delicious is around for people to find prompts they may not have already seen. (prompts for parts one and two are now up for reposting.)

Mark/Eduardo, Reincarnation fic

After Mark and Eduardo screwed it up so badly the first time, karma keeps pushing them back together again and again and again until they FINALLY get it right. With Chris and Dustin and maybe Sean showing up in each incarnation, too!

Bonus points for scenarios in which they grow up together as best friends, or where they're both soldiers on opposite sides of a war, or where one or both are already married/in a relationship when they meet and have a secret affair that ends badly, etc. The more scenarios the better.

SUPER bonus points, though, if they meet in college, become best friends, and Mark has an idea for a business in which Eduardo becomes his CFO. Only difference: they actually get it right, this time.

Something with the feel of/loosely based off this:

Keep on Trying (Until We Get it Right) 1a/?

Warnings: language, angst, the characters die a lot (reincarnation fic) and some of these deaths will be shown.

If anyone has any more scenarios they want to see, let me know.

Eduardo left the depositions, walking out to the car that was waiting to take him to the airport. His hand rested in his pocket, curled around the plane ticket to Singapore.

Mark watched him leave through the office window. He didn't look back.

They made a movie of the first time. Mark saw it once with all the Facebook staff and pretended like the whole affair was over and nothing was really wrong.

The second time he sees it he is sitting on a hard plastic chair in a waiting room very slightly too white to be normal as Dustin and Chris – allegedly his spirit guides – flex their wings and try to explain where he'd gone wrong.

"I built Facebook," Mark says as Chris zooms in on Eduardo's face (not even Eduardo's face, some actor who wasn't even there, who didn't know a damn thing) and Dustin waxes lyrical about destiny and happiness and how karma has decided that Mark and Eduardo are Meant To Be.

"It changed the world," Mark expands, even though they're not listening. "It was huge, monumental, how was that not what I was supposed to do?"

Dustin throws his arms up in the air. Chris sighs. "You were supposed to be happy."

The movie ends with Marylin telling him how he's not an asshole, he's just trying to be. That never happened. Mark watches her walk away while Chris and Dustin bicker about second chances.

He wonders if it would have changed anything. Having her there.

The movie ends with Mark sitting refreshing a friend request for a girl who barely even existed in his life. It's a good ending for a movie, he supposes, but it doesn't tell him anything.

"Okay," Chris says, turning away from where Dustin is doing some kind of victory dance. "We're going to try again."

They grew up neighbours, went to the same school, the same shopping mall. If Dustin dragged Mark to a party, Eduardo was there.

Eduardo was a gymnast, head of the cheerleaders and the most popular guy in school. Mark was thrown out of chess club for writing a program that could beat anyone and thrown out of debate for making his own team mates cry.

Eduardo used to practice backflips in the back yard. Mark used to pretend he wasn't watching.

It was 2am on a Wednesday night. Mark was coding with red bull and red vines, headphones over his ears and normally he wouldn't have caught the flash of something outside but he was thinking about something Dustin had said and couldn't focus.

He glanced up at the window – thinking to close the curtains – and saw Eduardo run out of his house, vault effortlessly over the two meter fence between their gardens then dart off into the shadows at the bottom of the lawn.

Mark hesitated, fingers poised over the keyboard. He didn't know Eduardo. They'd never talked, it was none of his business. He had code to finish by tomorrow for the photography club and he was close enough to being booted from there that he couldn't risk it. After this the only club left would be Glee.

Mark looked down at his keyboard, trying to blank out the shadows at the end of the garden, and focused on the line he was halfway through typing. He had no idea how it was supposed to end.

He looked up again. The shadows were still and silent, as though Eduardo had gone. Mark pushed his headphones back and could hear – somewhere – someone shouting, a door slamming. Something in the shadows flinched.

Keep on Trying (Until We Get it Right) 1b/?

He saved his code and pushed back his chair, sliding on a pair of flip-flops as he slipped out the back door and down to the end of the garden. Eduardo was sitting against the fence, almost in the flowerbed, leaning his head back against the fence, his half closed eyes tracking Mark as Mark crouched down awkwardly next to him.

He'd thought about bringing hot chocolate or coffee but he couldn't make either of them without waking up his mom. He held out his half finished can of red bull instead and tried for a smile. "This is trespassing, you know."

Eduardo looked at the can, expression unreadable in the shadows. Looking at the flawless skin of his hands, the black shirt open at the neck Mark swallowed and thought about code. It took less than a minute to realize where he'd gone wrong with the code and wish he was still back in his room.

Eduardo was a cheerleader, Mark got booted from chess club. One well placed Facebook update and Mark's meagre social life would be over.

Eduardo took the can from his fingers and tilted it back, throat moving as he swallowed. "Do you ever get the feeling that nothing will ever be good enough?"

Mark thought about writing code, about the moment when everything clicked into place and it started to work. "No," he said, without thinking.

Eduardo stared at him, coughed a laugh that was almost a sob and somehow ended up crying.

Mark bounced awkwardly on his toes, feeling the mud ooze beneath his feet. "Your pants are getting filthy."

It was true, Eduardo's smart black trousers were gaining a thick coat of red dirt. It was true but Mark was also pretty sure it wasn't what he was supposed to say.

This was why Dustin forbade him from social interaction without a chaperone, but Eduardo just made another noise that was almost a laugh and took a long pull on the red bull. "Tell me Mark," he said. "When you look at me, do you think Harvard school of economics?"

Mark stared at him and the ridiculousness of the question completely wiped out his surprise that Eduardo knew his name. "Of course not," he said. "You're going to the Olympics."

Eduardo finished Mark's red bull and crumpled the can between his fingers. "I'm good at math," he said eventually. "I never even thought about it, but my father ..." he looked up at Mark. "You're going to Harvard, right? What do you want to do?"

Mark wondered how Eduardo knew about Harvard. It was unlikely that Eduardo was also regularly hacking into the guidance councillor's office. "I'm going to work at Facebook," he said. "There's so much potential they're not taking advantage of."

Eduardo smiled. "No doubts for you then."

It had never occurred to Mark to have doubts. Facebook needed improvements, he could provide them. If they didn't hire him, it would be terrible strategy on their part. "I'm going to Facebook," he said. "You're going to the Olympics."

Eduardo held out the crushed can with the beginnings of a smile. "I'll hold you to that."

Chris is pounding up and down the room. "He was supposed to go to Harvard with you. You were supposed to get a shared room and fall in love."

Mark stares at his toes. His flip flops are White enough that they seem to blend into the floor. "Then why did you make him a gymnast?"

Dustin cackles. "That was my idea. No need to thank me."

"He won gold," Mark says. His shorts are white too. If he died in trousers, his legs would just melt into the walls.

Chris slams the heel of his palm into the wall. "He left town right after you talked to him. You didn't even get his number, Mark. He's your soulmate and we put him right next door, how hard can it be?" He stops to take a deep breath. "You'll just have to try again."

Mark rests his hand in the pockets of his (white) hoodie. "How many chances do I get?"

Chris rests his head in his hands. "Facebook is taking off in a big way," he says. "They like it. Which makes them even more determined that you should have your happy ending. You have chances. You have a lot of chances but all you have to do is get it right one time. Just one time. It's not hard."

He might be wrong about that.

Re: Keep on Trying (Until We Get it Right) 1b/?

Oh, I like this, anon, I like this very much! I love that you went with keeping it in the here and now (or not-very-distant future) and not went through the ages (those AUs can be fun, but all the world-building necessary for the different times tends to take the focus of the relationship and its different aspects and mutations).

Re: Keep on Trying (Until We Get it Right) 1b/?

I really like this! Is Mark living full lives each time? I just love the idea of soulmates~

You've started out beautifully, anon, really. I love the idea of Chris and Dustin being Mark's spirit guides. Their second life together was also written very well - the fact that Mark can't seem to stay away from Facebook amuses me greatly (typical Mark - even when he has no memory of his past life, he can't seem to stay away from his creation). And ah. The way Mark and Eduardo interacted, even though they were, at best, acquaintances, felt delicate and intimate. Subtle undertones of it, but I did get that impression. And Mark encouraging him to live out his dream... ah, this is just too good.

I'm so excited to see what you write next! Thank you again for filling this and giving me something to look forward to! :D
