♥ post requests and responses in the comments to this post.

♥ one pairing/prompt per comment please.
♥ you are encouraged to try and write a prompt for every request you make.
♥ we are slash, femslash, het, three-and-moresomes etc. friendly. (we are even incest friendly what with some of our characters being twins and all...)
♥ no pairing bashing, OK? no need to wank over ships.
♥ long and short fics welcome. multiple responses encouraged!
♥ please try to refrain from saying 'seconded!' as much as possible.
♥ on RPF: Please disclaim that it is RPF, a work of fiction and in no way related to the actual actors/persons/etc. (i wouldn't even try and discourage RPF from this meme ;))
WARN FOR COMMON TRIGGERS, PLEASE

FORMAT OF PROMPTS;

♥ alphabetize pairings/threesomes/moresomes. (e.g. Eduardo/Mark/Sean etc.)
♥ put [RPF] before RPF prompts. (e.g. [RPF] Andrew/Jesse)
♥ for crossover prompts: "[Crossover], The Social Network Character(s)/Other Character(s), [Fandom]" (e.g. [Crossover], Eduardo/Columbus, [Zombieland])
♥ no "!" in pairings, only in descriptions. (e.g. Eduardo/Mark, FacebookCreator!Eduardo, CFO!Mark)
♥ anyone, everyone, no one? Use "Other." (e.g. Sean/Other)
♥ put [GEN] before GEN prompts.

FILLS;

♥ please don't embed. link to images/videos.

♥ all prompts are open to fills at all times, even if they have been filled in the past or are being currently filled by someone else. multiple fills are positively encouraged; if something appeals to you then do not be put off creating a new fill by the existence of a prior one.
NEW: ♥ PLEASE comment with the first of your fill to the PROMPT and then all future updates as a comment to the FIRST PART of the fill. this makes it easier for both the WIP spreadhseet and for archiving stuff on delicious. it also helps people who are trying to catch up on updates and don't have to look through every fill on the prompt (should it have more than one). thank you.

Eduardo, transgender (trigger warning for transphobia?)

(Anonymous)
There's a lot of always-a-girl fic in this fandom, but I haven't seen any trans fic. I'd love to see some, for any of the main characters, but since that's a bit broad for a prompt, how about this: Eduardo has always secretly identified as female, and her father came down really hard on her ever since she was a young child about not being masculine enough, "Be a man, my son!" and all that. And Eduardo has tried to do what her father wanted. But now she's a billionaire Harvard graduate, she's lost all her old friends (let's suppose she at least believes that Chris and Dustin have sided with Mark) and her father isn't talking to her, and she has to build a new live anyway, so why not transition? What does she have to lose, after all?

I'm fine with gen for this, but I'd be equally fine with Eduardo/Mark or Eduardo/someone else. And I'd love to see how Mark, Chris, and Dustin react to getting to know Eduardo as a woman.

Or, alternatively, Mark

(Anonymous)
What if Mark was trans, and transitioned before Harvard? He was brought up by a psychiatrist in the 1980s, so I can see him transitioning earlier. MTF or FTM, but I've already written one MTF prompt, so:

Mark's parents named him Marcia at birth, but his mother realized early on that he wasn't happy as a girl. As a good psychiatrist, she supported him, and let him wear boys' clothes and use male pronouns, while waiting to see whether this was just a phase or a permanent thing. By puberty, it was pretty plain that Mark wasn't going to grow out of this, and he started taking hormones in his teens.

By the time he gets to Harvard, everyone knows him as Mark. Author's choice on whether he gets a dorm with Chris and Dustin or Harvard gives him a single, and on how and when he comes out to his friends (although, please not that scenario where he never tells anyone until the shock scene where he undresses before his date for the first time. That happens in fiction a lot more often than it happens with real trans people) and how it affects him founding Facebook, how he deals with other students at Harvard (I'd be very interested in how it affects his attitude to women) etc.

Oh, and from Harvard's website:
In our ongoing efforts to support transgender students, we have made important changes to our policies, such as ensuring that the "gender" field on our application is optional, and that Harvard College has inclusive policies on housing and access to gender non-specific bathrooms across campus.

I don't know how long that's been true, but let's assume they've been trying to be inclusive for a while now.

Re: Or, alternatively, Mark

(Anonymous)
Fuck yes. I'm writing the 'or, alternatively' right now.

I was just thinking yesterday how much I wanted some trans!Mark.

(Um. Would it be a huge problem if he was transitioned without taking the hormones? I didn't read carefully enough and screwed that bit up.)

Re: Or, alternatively, Mark

(Anonymous)
It's okay by me if he doesn't take hormones - not every trans person does, after all. Also: yay!

Re: Or, alternatively, Mark

Thank you! That makes my life a lot easier. :D

This is really fun to write! Although I've titled it incorrectly, sorry, I'm very bad at titling things.

Mark decided early on that he wasn’t going to pretend.

The first time, he was seven years old and tearing off the pretty pink dress his mom made him wear for his birthday. He played with the barbies but he wasn’t going to dress up in girl’s clothes.

At the time he couldn’t articulate the dark, hollow ache inside of him. He just yelled about how the lace itched, and his mother -- alarmed at his ferocity -- gave him jeans and a T-shirt instead.

Eleven years later he’s got the words. He’s also not wearing a dress.

It still feels like a lie.

.

His roommate is a nice guy. Dustin Moskovitz, a loud-mouthed boy with a big smile. Mark doesn’t think Dustin would hurt him but still buries his sanitary napkins deep inside his dresser and changes beneath the covers, citing crippling shyness.

Dustin laughs and says that’s okay, he feels totally weird about his body too. Mark shouldn’t worry, he says, but whatever.

This is okay. He ekes out a tolerable existence. Sometimes he’s even happy.

.

Dustin introduces him to Eduardo, who introduces him to Erica Albright. This is the single best thing that has ever happened to Mark.

When he meets her, Erica is sitting at a booth in the Thirsty Scholar, laughing at something Eduardo is saying. He’s reaching up to tweak her nose -- he’s a little buzzed, as is evident from the redness of his cheeks -- and she’s covering her mouth with the tips of her fingers.

She looks so beautiful, so simultaneously strong and delicate that he wants to wrap her up in his arms immediately and hold her there forever. She reminds him of a luna moth -- those huge, glorious creatures with wings like crepe paper that can carry them across oceans.

He slides into the booth.

She looks up and smiles.

He smiles back, then looks away. She doesn’t fish for his eyes.

“Mark,” says Eduardo. “This is Erica.”

“Nice to meet you,” he says, and it is. It really is.

.

“Is there something you’re not telling us?” Eduardo will ask every now and then, when Mark disappears into himself or spends weeks burying himself in cold, repetitive code. He always gets on that Voice, the ones that’s supposed to mean he’s open and Mark can tell him anything, but actually means that he needs to be needed.

[FILL] 2/?

[[ i, um. might have forgotten to title the first part. it's in the section just above this one ]]

It takes him four days to realize that by rooming with Dustin he as essentially signed on for two other roommates -- Eduardo and Chris. They wander in at random and occasionally Mark can’t sleep because they’ve all decided to lounge in his bed.

He finds this more than mildly irritating, but only on principal. Mark doesn’t need the bed, anyway. If he gets five hours for every seventy-two he’s awake, he’s pretty much good.

Dustin and Chris leave him alone when he disappears into his laptop but Eduardo insists on talking to him. It’s only polite, he hears Eduardo tell Chris once.

Mark doesn’t mind. Most of the stuff he’s doing isn’t very difficult, it’s just bullshit for school, he needs something to occupy himself with anyway.

Eduardo leans over his shoulders and asks questions. “Can you really read all that?” he’ll say, or, “is it the same as learning a real language?”

Sometimes Mark will even answer him.

.

Now and again, it freaks him out to have so many biological males in the room -- what if they sniff him out, what if they take advantage? -- but for the most part they accept him as one of the guys.

He likes that. It’s never happened before.

Everyone in high school knew him before he transitioned, and they treated him like a freak at worst, a novelty act at best.
