sorry about the delay in getting this up! please put all new prompts here.

IMPORTANT: please DO NOT post prompts about any non-public people as part of a prompt. for example: randi zuckerberg is fine as she is a public figure both on the internet and on facebook itself. priscilla chan is NOT as she is not a public figure.

if you're in doubt, please message the mod or leave a comment in the discussion post.

♥ post requests and responses in the comments to this post.
♥ be respectful.
♥ both a pairing/character AND a prompt/kink must be posted.
♥ one pairing/prompt per comment please.
♥ you are encouraged to try and write a prompt for every request you make.
♥ we are slash, femslash, het, three-and-moresomes etc. friendly. (we are even incest friendly what with some of our characters being twins and all...)
♥ no pairing bashing, OK? no need to wank over ships.
♥ long and short fics welcome. multiple responses encouraged!
♥ please try to refrain from saying 'seconded!' as much as possible.
♥ on RPF: Please disclaim that it is RPF, a work of fiction and in no way related to the actual actors/persons/etc. (i wouldn't even try and discourage RPF from this meme ;))

♥ alphabetize pairings/threesomes/moresomes. (e.g. Eduardo/Mark/Sean etc.)
♥ put [RPF] before RPF prompts. (e.g. [RPF] Andrew/Jesse)
♥ for crossover prompts: "[Crossover], The Social Network Character(s)/Other Character(s), [Fandom]" (e.g. [Crossover], Eduardo/Columbus, [Zombieland])
♥ no "!" in pairings, only in descriptions. (e.g. Eduardo/Mark, FacebookCreator!Eduardo, CFO!Mark)
♥ anyone, everyone, no one? Use "Other." (e.g. Sean/Other)
♥ put [GEN] before GEN prompts.

♥ please don't embed. link to images/videos.
♥ no locked material. this includes communities, even if membership is open.
♥ fills can be posted anonymously or not.
♥ fills can be anything: fic, art, vid, fanmix, podfic, etc.
♥ all prompts are open to fills at all times, even if they have been filled in the past or are being currently filled by someone else. multiple fills are positively encouraged; if something appeals to you then do not be put off creating a new fill by the existence of a prior one.
NEW: ♥ PLEASE comment with the first of your fill to the PROMPT and then all future updates as a comment to the FIRST PART of the fill. this makes it easier for both the WIP spreadhseet and for archiving stuff on delicious. it also helps people who are trying to catch up on updates and don't have to look through every fill on the prompt (should it have more than one). thank you.

have fun!

THERE WILL BE UNMARKED SPOILERS. enter at your own risk! :D

i know you guys are enjoying this meme and i appreciate that but please can you put the SUBJECT HEADER on your prompt. you would REALLY be helping me out if you could do that. it just saves time for me when i'm trying to tag everything in delicious.

AND PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT repost prompts from parts three, four, five or six over here again. the delicious is around for people to find prompts they may not have already seen. (prompts for parts one and two are now up for reposting.)

So, Eduardo always been referred to as a bad CFO has been making me sad - so I'd like a fic where post-dilution, Eduardo is head-hunted to be CFO for another company (real one, or make one up, I don't care). But he is awesome at it and the company booms - the press say he is awesome, and so do his co-workers (publicly; at functions etc), and Eduardo/company says that leaving Facebook was the best thing for him.
Bonus points for Facebook people (Sean; Peter Thiel etc) saying why the heck did we let him go, and extra bonus points for grumpy! quit-stealing-my-Eduardo!Mark. Don't really care what else happens, heh, perhaps Facebook tries to steal Eduardo back - I just want awesome!Eduardo and pouty-grumpy-snarky!Mark. :D

Re: Eduardo/Mark

Oh, please, this! I'm always upset when people just take Mark's statement of Eduardo being a bad CFO as fact. We don't know what Eduardo did as CFO before he froze the account! He must have at least taken care of insurances for the interns (and for Mark and Dustin too) for that summer and all those little details and he must have made a business plan to show to the potential investors he went to, and update and adapt that as Facebook grew and changed. As for his dislike of Sean, his insistence to stay in NY and look for investors there, and his attempts to convince Mark of ads, well, I see that as points in his favour. Mark got lucky with Thiel. Sean was unreliable and could just as easily have ruined him (sending him to a meeting in his pajamas for a private little revenge scheme, really?), and without that first investment go big or go home could easily have turned into go home, Facebook growing quickly and eating up their (i.e. Eduardo's reserves) without bringing in any money to cover their costs, not to talk about making a profit - you can't run a site that huge on interns and a friend's pocket money, you need to pay wages, taxes, offices, tech,... Eduardo was playing it safe. That Sean didn't like that makes sense, but Mark never realised that the one guy who believed in his vision enough to want to make sure it came true was the one who didn't risk it for a quick rise back to the top but the one who tried to give it a solid base.

Re: Eduardo/Mark

eh, I dunno, I don't think Eduardo was absolutely terrible as a CFO, but when his hunting for advertisers wasn't panning out, he should have been looking for alternate modes of investment. It didn't have to be through Sean, but he should have committed to the search for VCs earlier in the game. Also, I think more of the 'bad CFO' thing comes from the fact that he pretty much abandoned his company all summer--by the time he showed up in Palo Alto, he had no idea what was going on with facebook as a product--he didn't even know how to change his facebook relationship status. How can you be an effective salesperson for a product you don't understand? Plus, he was just an econ major. Econ is not the same as being as business major at all (it's basically four years of calculus, statistics, and linear algebra), and I doubt he was taking courses on small business management/financing. And while there's no evidence in canon to support either of us, I kind of doubt he was out hunting for insurance for the interns. In fact, if they were interns and not staff, facebook wouldn't be obligated to pay for their insurance anyway. As students, they're probably still all dependent on their families' plans. And it's not uncommon for tech startups to be run out of someone's house/garage/basement, esp. before the dot com boom when people where still feeling out this new territory. Take, for example, Craigslist--at one point Craig Newmark had something like ten people working out of his apartment. I'm not saying Eduardo was a bad guy, dumb, or that he didn't try his best. He certainly didn't deserve Mark's underhanded share dilution. If he'd had a mentor the way that Mark had Sean, hey, maybe FB would have had ads starting in 2005. And I totally agree that Sean was a big risk. But I *do* think that people who are the most successful are the ones willing to take big risks and fail, and Sean was key in that he had the on-the-ground experience working in tech startups that would help facebook get where it needed to be.

other anon also has opinions, :)

not op

word, plus you are only as good as your last mistake. And let's face it, secretly closing a bank account *and* flying back to MA was a doozy.

Re: not op

True! He really did strike the first blow--if they didn't find Thiel when they did, he could have destroyed the entire company by cutting off their cash flow.

diff anon

I mean it's business. I'm pretty sure this makes me a horrible person but if I had been in that situation, I would have cut him out as well. I can't say if I would do it underhandedly (I probably would, if push comes to a shove), but I would have cut him out as well.

If you erase all the emotional entanglements, it's a start up company and it needed the chief officers in one place at the same time.

Re: diff anon

Can you anons please use the above link to continue this discussion in the actual discussion post?

Re: diff anon

Well, I can understanding cutting him out of the company - firing him as CFO. I would have probably done that, particularly after cutting the bank account. But diluting the shares? Well, that is just mean. And to a person who is meant to be your friend? That is just worse.

Re: diff anon

I agree that diluting the share is mean, underhanded, and just plain unethical.
but at the same time, Eduardo also owned 34% of facebook pre-dilution, making him the 2nd largest shareholder after Mark. removing him from the company was not as easy as just firing him.
